So sad, but something we need to think about. I plan to volunteer as a Guardian Ad Litem after the holidays. I think the economy in our area is going to increase the number of children needing protection.NCmountainwomanhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00615765649828716560noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4397297519936791008.post-565849728343182422008-12-10T14:16:00.000-05:002008-12-10T14:16:00.000-05:00Your last comment sums it up well. After termination there can be supervised visits if it's in the child's best interest but once a child is adopted contact is up to the adoptive parents. In Maine, we don't have "Open Adoption", not sure if you do in Georgia, but that's where the biological parents can stay in touch with the child. In Maine, it is entirely up to the adoptive family.Bethhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02604780070187163751noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4397297519936791008.post-62647011089850940392008-12-10T06:16:00.000-05:002008-12-10T06:16:00.000-05:00If the parental rights are revoked, that does not ...If the parental rights are revoked, that does not necessarily mean they can't see the kids, does it? Or, is it done in a supervised situation? I mean, I know the ones who were abusive don't get that privilege, but what about the ones charged with neglect due to their own circumstances and inability to properly parent?Jaynehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14057094040409159429noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4397297519936791008.post-6304910754743716142008-12-09T21:23:00.000-05:002008-12-09T21:23:00.000-05:00beth....this has been so interesting to read...you...beth....this has been so interesting to read...you have amazed me with your ability to sum all of this up for your readers...it really was fabulous for you to do this !!!!
