Aren't they wonderful! We love them here too. I put out strawberry yogart for a dip and the granddaughters can eat a zillion of them. I don't add sugar or anything. Just wash, stem, and slice in half. Enjoy all you want, I'm sure they don't have many calories!
Yesterday me and Arch were biking and we saw a guy picking boysenberries (i think) so on our way back we picked some to bring home to Ann (although I think we consumed more there than we brought home :) ) There is a farmers market downtown today, maybe we will have to see if there is any tasty fruits in season. Before you eat all of your strawberries raw, you should make one of your famous pies.... mmmmmmmm
How can you possibly not eat all of them at once? They look delicious. We brought pounds of rhubarb back from Maine last month and we were planning to freeze it. After a week there was nothing left to freeze.
Hey Beth, If you can get your fingers out of the strawberry bowl for a few minutes, go to my blog and receive your award for excellent writing. Congratulations.
I'm putting fresh strawberries in my cereal every morning. I can't tell you how much I love summer foods like strawberries, corn on the cob, and cherries!
Four quarts since Tuesday, amateur! I went picking yesterday, and am headed back today. The Music Man and I picked over 30 pounds, and I still don't think that is enough to get us through the winter.
When I enlarge the photo it looks like a painting. Love the bowl they're in! Do you blend them into smoothies also? I take Danon's strawberry carb control yougurt smoothie and blend it with fresh strawberries, milk, powdered milk and ice for a cool, smooth refreshing drink. Yum!

Yummmmm! The very best thing foodwise about this time of year! Had my first Ranier cherries the other day. Rapture... pure rapture.
I figure that is what seasonal eating is supposed to be like. Fresh local strawberries are a short-lived treat. I eat them and eat them too.

You and SJ gave me the inspiration to drive to Stevenson's today. Well worth it! Thanks!
