Revisiting the Wire Bridge

Five months ago today, I wrote about The Wire Bridge in North New Portland. Today, I was again in the area and stopped to take some pictures.

When I arrived at the bridge there was a couple getting out of the car with their dog. The told me that they had been at the Common Ground Fair a few weeks ago and were very taken with a photograph of the Wire Bridge so had decided to take a day trip from their home in Brunswick to see it.
They couldn't have picked a more beautiful day. The doggie was blind but seemed to enjoy the outing with his people. Perhaps he could sense the peace and tranquilty.

All is tranquil and quiet in the hills of Maine as Autumn works her magic.

Brother and his family are flying in from Chile today, we will enjoy sharing our home and lives with them over the next few weeks. Luz Marie and her son have never been to the United States before--they spent yesterday in New York City and today are flying on to Maine. I'm not sure how representative New York city and the hills of Maine are of the United States but at least it's better than getting their depiction of the United States from Desperate Housewives and The Biggest Loser!

Beth, How nice to see the wire Bridge again! We have visited there a few times when we lived in Maine and Gus took some really nice photos of it with our old Nikon FG 35mm camera. I have one of the photos framed and hanging around the house somewhere! I hope you enjoy your visit with family!

Tranquil is such a good word to describe what I feel when I see your Maine's autumnal glory. The bridge is just a beautiful as it was in the spring. How exciting to have your brother and family coming to visit. I know they will enjoy themselves being your guests. Have fun!

Beautiful outdoors where you are. We are still mostly green up here, some leaves changing colour here and there....

Cute dog!

I wish you a beautiful visit with your brother and his family.
Your last lines were priceless. As a foreigner to your land, I can personally say anything you get to see is worth the visit- hardly anybody ever gets to see the whole country, even if they live here!
Maine and new York are lucky to have them pass through!

Great photo's Beth! Yes, I think that seeing NY then Dixfield will depict the US quite nicely. Talk about you extremes!
Loved your last line too. I hope the girl in the yellow wins on The Biggest loser! :)

Amen Cuz. I wish the cable providers would let customers build their own list of favorite channels. Mine would be a very short one. Glad you are there to fill in the gaps. Pappy
