Solstice Storm, 2008

Well, Western Maine got wallopped with snow through the shortest day and into the longest night.

With school canceled, today is for the cleanup. Charlie kept up with the snow pretty well yesterday with the snowblower and is out for the final cleanup this morning.

I'm not sure what is wrong with my muse lately, but writing seems difficult. I just finished reading The Snoring Bird by Bernd Heinrich and want to write a post about how fascinating it was, but perhaps tomorrow.

Until then, stay warm.

Love the pictures, Beth -- and do hope you're keeping warm. We're on our third week of minus degree temperatures (and not just overnight...) I know I barely peeked my nose out Saturday -- just did my chores and watched movies and played on the computer. Makes me wonder what January will bring...a thaw?

May you and your family have a blessed Christmas Eve and Day!!!

Muse must be off for the Christmas Holidays. Mine went to Mexico to see relatives. Brrrrrr! If Charlie stops moving, go out and pour hot water on him. Pappy

You did get a lot of snow. I don't know what we would do without our snowblower, especially this year. It is quite the winter in many places this year.

Beth, I have been wathing the Weather Channel and suspected you were getting buried. Well at least you'll have a 'White Christmas'!

Happy holidays to you and yours!

I've been missing you and long to hear about a potentially great book! xo

You're not going to believe this--but I so want snow.
The storm that hit you by-passed us here in PA--even the 1-3" we were forecast fizzled. Then out came the sun and melted the tiny bit of white on the ground. Then the next two days the bottom dropped out of the temperature, and the wind blew. But NO SNOW.
Now we have freezing rain forecast--so far that's been the pattern this winter.

I WANT SNOW. (sorry for the mini-rant)

Merry Christmas to you and the whole family. Tell Auntie Maine and Uncle T, we send best wishes for a Merry Christmas their way also.

Beth, all I can say is brrrrr! My son and inlaws are buried in that stuff too! Chris says it was -30 up in PI the other day without the windchill! I hope your muse comes back soon! (Is is hiding in a beaver's den under the snow?)
