Oldest son called me this morning from Pennsylvania very excited that Maine was mentioned on the Today Show because of our enormous amounts of snow (150 inches already this winter with another six weeks of potential).
He said, "At Thanksgiving didn't we both say this was going to be a good winter?" I said, "Well, I think we were just being optimistic." He said, "Yeah, I think we say it every year, but this year we were right!"

What was meant by the comment, "This is going to be a good winter"? Reminds me of the story of the old man who's property line was moved during a survey. He lived in Maine originally, but after the survey he lived in New Hampshire. He told the surveyors he was delighted with the change because he didn't think he could stand another Maine winter.
Like so many other people, I'm running out of places to put the stuff! I'm worried that if we get too much more snow I'm going to have to buy a chair lift to get into my house.
I think there's so much "green" in California because we are so envious. Like I told Trixie, I'm willing to do a house trade any old winter! Lucky you.
Beth, And I think we have had it bad! By the way...I love the new header!
Wow! We have had a lot of snow, but just 1/2 the amount you have had. I hope it all melts slowly!
150 INCHES!! I had to grab my calculator to figure out that's 12 and a half feet! I'm going to stop complaining about the 34 inches we've had so far this winter.
The melting worries me, I wish that we could go from snowshoeing and cross country skiing to hiking overnight--but I expect there will be a very yucky season in between keeping me out of the woods! Look for crabby postings in late April and May
Just think of it metrically---150 inches is roughly 375 centimeters. That's more than good--that's awesome!
