Recently I discovered a radio show called the Vinyl Cafe. It plays on our local NPR station on Sunday afternoons and this morning while searching the web and wanting to re-listen to yesterday's story, Wally, I found that the broadcasts are available as a free podcast on Itunes.

I am so excited to see this. The Vinyl Cafe is on CBC on Saturday mornings and is a great radio show. I have laughed til I cried with some episodes. I have his books too which are a great read. The short, funny stories are the same he tells on the radio. Stuart McLean is the author and creator of the show. He also travels with the show and has been to our city a few times. I heard the Wailin Jennys for the first time here. I know Jayne likes them.
I just hear that Vinyl Cafe is available in podcast yesterday when I was driving. I listen to This American Life on podcast, love it!

His humor is my favorite kind - gentle, warm, not sarcastic. Some have compared him to Garrison K. but they are, as they say, apples and oranges to me.
Isn't he great? I first discoverd him when I started spending summers in Cape Breton 6 years ago.
He's in Maine twice next week.
I played "Dave Makes Snow" for Weather Lad and a friend on our way to dance class yesterday; they were laughing as hard as I was.
The first one I heard was a Christmas one about the adult eggnog and the kids' eggnog. I'll not give away any details, but I love Stuart MacLean's stories.
